Warnings about the battery and its uses

Batteries, terminal posts, terminals and related components contain lead, lead compounds and some other chemicals. In order to prevent serious health problems, anyone working with batteries must wash their hands with plenty of water and soap after work.

Safety glasses, mask and gloves must be worn at all times while working on and around a battery.

Hydrogen gas occurring in batteries are highly flammable. Charging areas must be well ventilated.

All objects and factors that may cause inflammation such as sparks, flames, lit cigarettes, welds, friction and static electricity discharge must be kept away from batteries. Otherwise gas may inflame and explode. Also, in order to prevent possible sparks during maintenance, ground cable must be disconnected first and connected last.

When disconnecting a battery from a vehicle, negative (-) terminal post must disconnected first while positive (+) terminal must be connected first when connecting again.

Circuits must not be connected or disconnected directly during charging.  Always turn off charging and testing devices before connecting or disconnecting cables to prevent sparks.

Flooded batteries should not be tilted more than 45 degrees to either side. Batteries contain sulphuric acid which can cause serious burns. In case of skin contact, affected area should be washed with plenty of water and soap. In case of eye contact, wash and immediately seek for medical help.

Do not lean on the battery while charging, testing or making connections.
Before charging a frozen battery, wait until it warms up to 15 degrees.
Do not install the battery to a vehicle unless you can confirm the battery voltage is in right direction.
Keep batteries and electrolyte away from children.

Important issues for correct use:

Battery surface must be kept clean and dry.
Ensure that no loosing or oxidation exists in battery connection points.
If applicable, water level of battery should be checked and “pure water” should be added if necessary. Acid must not be added under any circumstances.
Ensure that the battery is fully charged before long-term storage.
Read and follow the instructions.
